Brief Bio:
     My name is Apphia, but I often go by the name Ayu. Feel free to call me either. Or both. You could even call me John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt if you wanted to, but I probably wouldn't answer to it.

     I was born in southern California, but I've lived most of my life just south of Seattle. When I was still a baby, my mother volunteered me to be baby Jesus in a Christmas pageant. She still blames herself for giving me my first taste of acting and getting me completely hooked. I've since acted in stage, film, television, and voiceovers.

      In third grade, I directed my first play after miraculously coercing my classmates into giving up recess for "a fun project." In fourth grade, I wrote my first play, and I continued to write plays until one actually saw the stage in my senior year of high school. I am a Carnegie Mellon University graduate, and I currently live in Dallas, Texas.

Off Stage:
     I am an unabashed nerd with a fondness for comics, cartoons, manga, anime, fantasy, sci-fi, and police procedurals. I'm also a complete food geek. Hobbies include baking, packing bento, reading, and kendo. When I'm not acting, I stay busy as a freelance writer for indie computer games. I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
